Paphiopedilum bellatulum ‘Leopard’ x ‘Burmese Spots’
This small growing species has dark tessellated foliage with a crystalline overlay. These plants are attractive and appealing to look at even when not in bloom! When this little titan puts forth its large waxy white flower spotted in crimson, it is of exceptional size in respect to the plant. These bloom on young single growth plants in less than 24 months from the flask and as an adult often bloom twice a year.

Paphiopedilum kolopakingii 'Riopelle' FCC/AOS x self
I will start by mentioning that there are only 5 known divisions of this highly awarded plant existing in the world! I will also add that I have never seen a more outstanding presentation of blooms as I had seen when this plant bloomed for me the first time! This clone is truly a genuine kolopakingii which produces a flower spike reaching three feet tall and carrying 12-15 blooms at maturity. The photo link is of my plant receiving the CCE.

Paphiopedilum sanderianum ‘Jungle Monarch’ x sanderianum ‘Jungle King’
I am at the point now where I am using selected plants of this species for propagation that have been grown from seed here in my Wisconsin climate in order to produce a more grower friendly sanderianum for us all. The clone ‘Jungle King’ is my finest seed grown sanderianum and comes from the cross of ‘Deep Flight’ x ‘Deep Pockets.’ This is an amazing plant which was fondly viewed by the AOS judges but not awarded due to a slight defect of one flower. My sanderianums grow and flower well here in Wisconsin under our poor natural light so I’m convinced they will grow and flower for you, wherever you are. I will advise that these are very slow to mature and should be grown by only the very patient of growers. I will guarantee you safe delivery in the winter.

Paphiopedilum spicerianum Commander’ x ‘Acker’s Top Hat’
This unusual species has flowers described by some as looking like little Martian men! And that couldn’t be more true with a dorsal sepal virtually the same size as the rest of the flower. The huge white extraordinarily shaped dorsal sepal is marked with a distinct dark maroon line that runs vertically through the entire sepal. The huge sepal overshadows the predominately yellow-green petals and pouch which are also slightly marbled with a deep verdant green. This species is easy to grow and multiplies rapidly for dividing.

Phragmipedium wallisii ‘Rapunzel’ x kovachii ‘Tupac Amaru’
Due to the overwhelming success in the propagation of this cross I am re-introducing these at a special new price. This will give more of you a chance to be a part of raising this fantastic new hybrid. These plants are vigorous growers and need no special growing conditions to keep them happy. As with any of my Phragmipedium hybrids, satisfaction is guaranteed.

Phragmipedium Saint Ouen

A remake of a fantastic hybrid! These are small growing plants producing beautifully rounded blooms colored in soft shades of pink and strawberry.

Phragmipedium Sunset Magic
(Mem. Dick Clements ‘Rocket Flash’ 4N x Waunakee Sunset)

I was so impressed with the outcome of this cross I decided to make it again. One of the first to bloom was given an HCC in 2006 and I believe future AOS awards will be in the makings as more of these plants are shown.

Phragmipedium Twilight 'Rising Rocket' 4N AM/AOS x warscewiczianum
This cross should produce a darker red version of my cross Acker’s Fu Manchu (Twilight x caudatum).
CA388 $175.00

Phragmipedium Waunakee Wonder 'High Point' HCC/AOS x caudatum
I have been pollinating these two varieties every year since the pod parent received the AOS award years ago. Finally there is viable seed! This now means for the first time we can grow progeny from the largest flowered besseae hybrid having an 8.5” petal span with caudatum in its background and back-crossed with caudatum! This cross could produce the longest colored petals yet.

These plants originate from my breeding program at the greenhouses of Orchids Garden Centre & Nursery, formerly Orchids by the Ackers. Our establishment has been in the orchid business since 1963 and grows a wide variety of orchids from seed and tissue culture.
Our focus is to market orchid plants directly to the public from our 30,000 sq. ft. greenhouse range in Waunakee, WI.
Orchids Garden Centre & Nursery does not offer a catalog at this time. The above items are sold through Chuck Acker and is the only means to obtain shipped plants from Orchids Garden Centre & Nursery fine stock of orchids.
